20 June 2016 – SAA Global Education (SAA-GE) celebrates a new Memorandum of Understanding made with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and Pearson Education.
With the objective of providing a comprehensive pathway to learners aspiring to pursue a professional qualification in accountancy, the collaboration was made between the three parties.
Under the collaboration, Pearson Education will provide the curriculum and support for the LCCI Level 4 Financial Qualification to SAA-GE as point of entry towards the completion of ICAEW Certificate in Finance and Business (CFAB) with exemptions and thereafter, progression into the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) Qualification.
Through this pathway, SAA Global Education provided yet another credible and established accountancy qualification on top of its current suite of accountancy programmes, to aspiring accountancy professionals.
Speaking of the collaboration, Steve McGill, Head of Sales for Pearson Asia said “This new pathway means that many thousands of existing LCCI Level 3 candidates can now progress to Level 4 with additional benefit to continue pursuing their professional accountancy career to become a Chartered Accountant. I am also delighted that LCCI is going to be associated with a high quality and fast moving institution in SAAGE and this partnership represent a major stride towards our goal that is to help people make more of their lives through learning.”
Mark Protherough, Executive Director for ICAEW added “We are excited to partner with LCCI and SAA-GE to expand the pathway towards chartered accountancy and widen the pool of accounting talent in Singapore. In this fast-paced society, building a strong economy requires a workforce that is agile and adept. ICAEW’s CFAB certificate provides students with a strong foundation in key concepts for finance, accounting and business. It equips students with the knowledge and skills that will prove a firm foundation for a broad range of careers, and can also serves as a first step towards gaining the ACA qualification and becoming an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
“SAA Global Education (SAA-GE), the education arm of Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), is pleased to have a tripartite collaboration with Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW) and Pearson Education to offer LCCI Level 4 Financial Certificate and ICAEW’s Certificate in Finance and Business (CFAB). The signing of the MOU on 20 June 2016 shows commitment from the three parties to offer an excellent education opportunity to students of LCCI Level 3 and other qualifications to purse an accountancy career. We are pleased to announce that preparation is in progress for SAA-GE to offer the rest of the ACA programme for students who aspire to become Chartered Accountants via membership of ICAEW.” shared Branson Kwok, Managing Director of SAA-GE
SAA-GE looks forward to a close working relationship with ICAEW and Pearson Education to provide a well-recognised pathway to empower accountancy students to achieve their aspirations. Through this collaboration, we strongly believe it would further advance and promote the accountancy profession not only in Singapore but regionally.
