Benny E. Chwee,
B. Acc (Hons), MIntTax, CA (Singapore), ATA (Income Tax)
Benny is an advocate for tax education in Singapore and is currently lecturing in a polytechnic. Prior to this, he headed the tax function of a blue chip company listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Stock Exchange. Having been in practice for a decade, Benny has a proven track record of devising and implementing tax strategies with favourable outcomes in Singapore and beyond. Being an accountant by training and a tax strategist by profession, Benny believes that tax is more than just a compliance obligation. In his opinion, tax is a tool that could be leveraged within legal parameters to maximise value for stakeholders.
Toh Tze Hern
Master of Taxation; Bachelor of Accountancy (Hon); L.L.B. (Hon); CA Singapore; Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax)
Mr Toh first graduated with Honours in Accountancy from the Singapore Management University (SMU). Concurrently during his studies in SMU, Mr Toh completed the Diploma in Law and subsequently graduated with Honours in Law from the University of London. Currently he is holding a Master of Taxation from SUSS.
Mr Toh is also a Chartered Accountant (CA) Singapore with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and an Accredited Tax Advisor-(Income Tax) with the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP).
Mr Toh has been a tax practitioner since graduation. Currently he is responsible in overseeing the APAC tax compliance, risk and controversy of a US listed company. Prior to this he is tasked to setup and run a tax function in one of a Singapore Listed Companies that is a member of the Straits Times Index. He had worked for one of the Big 4 dealing with International Tax Advisory and for the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) during his career in taxation. In his years in IRAS, apart from his experience in corporate tax assessment work, he has been involved in landmark projects which include Productivity and Innovation Credit Scheme and Form C-S, and has been with the international tax division on transfer pricing works.
Mr Toh has many years of lecturing experiences. He is currently teaching the Taxation module of the Singapore CA Qualification Examanination and Module 2 (Corporate Tax) of the Association of Taxation Technicians Singapore (ATTS). He has previously been a speaker at various IRAS’ public seminars on Income Tax Filing Obligations of Companies and the Productivity and Innovation Credit scheme. Those who attend these public seminars include tax agents, directors, business owners and the general public.
