About Ooi Siew Linn

Ms Ooi is a Singapore Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. She graduated with an accountancy degree from Nanyang Technological University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Management from Imperial College London, UK.
Ms Ooi has over 20 years of experience in auditing, accounting, financial reporting, risk and compliance, corporate finance and corporate advisory. She started her career in a Big 4 where she has been involved in audit and assurance engagements of global corporations, listed entities and privately-owned enterprises in diverse industries.
She left to join the Asia Pacific central finance team of a dual-listed European MNC where she was actively involved in financial reporting and analysis, treasury, internal control compliance and implementation of Oracle financial management systems.
Ms Ooi subsequently joined one of the largest public accounting firm in Singapore, where she was a partner specialising in providing corporate advisory services and solutions to entrepreneurs, listed companies, individual investors and institutional investors. Her areas of expertise and experience included acquisition due diligence, transaction advisory, mergers and acquisition, raising finance, corporate financial planning, business restructuring and corporate recovery.
Ms Ooi is currently an Associate Faculty on adjunct arrangement with the leading institution where she currently teaches and has taught subjects relating to Assurance and Attestation, Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting at the degree levels. As an Associate Faculty, she is instrumental in the preparation of lesson plans and teaching materials and mentoring other instructors to ensure a smooth presentation of the course with good teaching strategies and content coverage. She is actively involved in writing, reviewing, marking, monitoring and invigilation of assessments/ examinations.
As part of institution’s flipped-classroom initiative, Ms Ooi developed materials for the university’s auditing course, which resulted in the publication of an e-study guide, complete with video recordings, chunk lectures, interactive quizzes, classroom activities and references. The e-study guide is accessible on multiple digital devices and across various operating systems.
Ms Ooi was an adjunct lecturer in Singapore Management University under the Industry Partnership Programme which involved course development and delivery of Corporate Advisory modules at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. She was also a trainer at the Institute of Banking and Finance for certain basic and intermediate modules in its Continuing education programme.
Ms Ooi is currently and has been involved in several programmes administered by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountant.
