About Thum Cheng Cheong

Mr. Thum is currently lecturing for SAA-GE in ACCA for the module, ‘Corporate and Business Law’.
Mr. Thum has practiced law in various law firms. He was also an in-house legal counsel with local and foreign banks where his responsibilities include legal documentation, credit administration and providing legal advice. He is an ACTA certified trainer and a licensed ThinkBuzan instructor. Mr. Thum currently teaches Business Law for SIM GE diploma in management studies and Contract & Agency Law for SUSS. He has been engaged as a consultant to SIM GE to redesign the Business Law module and also to conduct Study Skills workshop. He also plays the roles of module leader and writer of course materials, such as subject guides and teaching guides. Other than academic teaching, Mr. Thum is an active trainer in the area of mind mapping and visual thinking for corporations and learning institutions. He has conducted Mind Mapping and Visual Thinking workshops for executives, managers, Head of departments, educators and lecturers in Singapore and overseas. Mr. Thum was awarded Innovation Seed Grants from SUSS (2017: “improving the quality of student thinking with concept map”) and SIMGE (2018: “Mobile Micro Learning”). In addition, Mr. Thum won 2nd prize in the InnovJAM Mobile Learning Innovation Day (2018), a national competition organised by Institute of Adult Learning for his presentation on “Mobile Micro Learning”.
Mr. Thum is the author of ACCA F4 Corporate & Business Law study guide & revision kit. Mr. Thum graduated with a law degree from NUS with second-class honours. He was called to the bar and is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law.
