How do you order food in Singapore’s Food Court/Hawker Centre at the economic food stall?

Singapore is hot, trust me. Air conditioning is good, but you pay for it. Whatever dish you would order at the Hawker Centre; the Food Court, expect to pay one to two dollars more.
The next thing you have to decide is when you go to your Veggie Rice, some places call it Economy Rice or Mixed Veggie, is do you want them to ‘Take Away’ in which case to put in a takeaway package so you can eat it somewhere else or you’ll let them know I’m ‘Eating it here’ or having my dish here.
Once they know which ones you want, you then let them know, ‘I want more rice, extra rice, or less rice’, (which means half of the portion). If you’re lucky you can get ‘Brown Rice’ not many places have them, but if you do, you have to do it, the healthier choice. Then you can choose any dish that you want, you can have fried dishes, you can have meat dishes, and of course the veggie dishes.
If the meat you can expect to find chicken, pork, fish fillets. If you’re lucky you can find squid or clams or whole fish. Whole fish, you’re gonna pay the most because usually, the meat can be some sort of upgrade in your price. But easily, you can find twenty different dishes to choose from.
Singaporean and foreigners a like, love them because you’re paying from three dollars to six dollars for your meal. Which is easily 1/2 or 1/3 the price of going to McDonald’s for that extra meal. I hope you have a great evening and I’ll see you next time. Good Night.
